About The Detroit Cultural CEnter Association
The Detroit Cultural Center Association (DCCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating a thriving cultural district.
Founded in 2024, we provide the shared leadership, infrastructure, and coordination required for the Detroit Cultural Center to grow as a connected destination, aligning institutions, infrastructure, and investment in ways no single institution can achieve alone.
We work collaboratively with all 12 Cultural Center institutions to support shared success and amplify the district’s positive impact on Detroit residents and visitors alike. Through strategic leadership and partnerships, we are shaping the future of the Detroit Cultural Center as a dynamic destination for arts, education, and civic life.

We elevate the collective visibility of the Cultural Center by unifying its institutions under a shared identity and promoting the district as a vibrant, connected destination. Our efforts drive visitation and increase awareness.
We enable and enhance collaborative programming across institutions, supporting high-quality, cross-institutional events that increase length of stay, deepen engagement, and encourage repeat and cross-visitation.
We create and expand curated educational experiences within and across Cultural Center institutions, connecting educators and learners to unique programs, field trips, and curriculum-based experiences.
We maintain a centralized approach to data collection and analysis to measure and strengthen the long-term cultural, educational, and economic vitality of the district. By tracking district metrics, we use data to tell the Cultural Center’s collective story and inform decision-making.
We serve as a liaison among Cultural Center institutions, building relationships, strengthening trust, and supporting coordinated planning. Through strategic partnerships and shared governance, we help align efforts across the district.
We oversee the Cultural Center Planning Initiative, which guides district-wide improvements in public spaces, infrastructure, climate resilience, cultural programming, digital connectivity, and economic activity. This work enhances both the environment and the visitor experience.
We represent and support the collective voice of the Cultural Center, cultivating strategic partnerships and advancing shared priorities at the local, regional, and national levels.
We lead district-wide fundraising efforts to support long-term sustainability, securing resources for capital projects, programming, marketing, and infrastructure that benefit the entire Cultural Center.
